Updated Offerings: Glass Kits, Virtual Classes

Summer break is almost over and teachers and parents are having to prep for the school year in creative new ways. Here at Fuzed, we’ve had to revamp every aspect of how we do business, just like you’ve had to revamp your daily routine and redefine the future of education. The great news is, we can do this together! We miss seeing you in the studio, but we love that we get to see your beautiful home creations take shape in the kiln. Which is why we are so excited to introduce the Glass Class at Home Kits and Zoom Virtual Enrichment Classes!

While our Home Delivery Kits are a more a-la-carte option for open creativity at home, the Glass Class at Home Kits are available in 4, 6, or 8 week curriculums, covering art history, themes, theories, and artists. With every Class Kit, you receive all the glass needed to complete the projects, an e-book, and access to exclusive video lessons. This is a great option for small podlearning groups, artists who are independent learners and those who prefer a more flexible schedule. Once you order a class kit, it will be delivered to your door, contact free and sanitized, within 3-5 business days. Immediately after ordering you will receive an email with a link to download your e-book manual, which includes an introduction to the class kit itself, glass art creation basics, video access instructions, email and phone support options, as well as a basic glass art glossary, and project overviews. These kits give you the flexibility to take your time and work independently, while being guided alongside video instruction on a particular topic.

Each project focuses on an art theory or movement and how that can be emulated in glass. Each lesson has a clear objective and can be kept basic for a fun activity for younger artists, or you can try out the ‘extra challenges’ included in every project walkthrough to make it more engaging for older artists. Work through the projects at your own pace and bring them back to the studio to fire all at once in a big fun batch or bring them back one by one and enjoy the journey. Flexibility in our programs is very important to us and we want you to be in control of your artistic development. Let us know if there are any questions or accommodations we can make for your child’s abilities! We recommend ages 7+ for the Glass Class At Home Kits, with a reminder that some supervision is recommended for every age since we are working with glass.

In March, our after school enrichment classes were sadly cut short and discontinued for the remainder of the year. This school year, like so much else, enrichment classes have gone virtual! We are so thrilled to offer classes through the San Anselmo Recreation Department, Mill Valley Recreation, and the studio website. You can also sign up for the Zoom classes on the Book an Event tab of our website. The virtual class materials include everything you get in the home kits, plus Zoom meeting details and instructions. Please be sure to sign up at least a week in advance so that we can be sure to have enough time to get all the materials needed for the class delivered in time.

Zoom classes will run on a 10 week cycle, starting the week of September 14th. Each week, we decided to offer three days of class at three different times so that hopefully there is a time slot that works for anyone who wants to join. Every meeting in a given week will focus on the same project, so you only need to sign up for one per week.

The virtual classrooms will be shared with multiple schools, organizations, individuals, and school districts so it is also a chance to make new friends and maybe see some old friends too. We will be limiting group sizes to make sure it is a good experience for everyone, but are open to adding more time slots if needed. We can also create a private group of 5 or more students for a more personalized experience if you’d prefer.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or ideas. We’d love to hear them!

Thank You!

I want to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who has ordered kits, studio-made items, gift cards, or supported the studio in any other way since the shutdown. August 17th marks one year of being a business owner for me, and it has been a source of learning, creativity, stress, community, self-care,  and a little (ok a lot) more stress. However, it has most overwhelmingly been a source of happiness. So thank you to everyone who has and continues to support Fuzed; I’m looking forward to the next year because of you.

Also, shout-out to the amazing ladies on the Fuzed team, Bridget, Lindsey, and Sheri. All three are incredible and have been supportive and understanding with me as I floundered through this first year’s twists and turns. I couldn’t have done it without all three of them.
